Important Customer Information

Please read before your scheduled move

Moving involves time, labor, equipment, access, parking, property conditions, item condition, weather, safety, scheduling, and customer direction. These policies help explain how Pro Movers - Oregon handles common moving situations.

When our crew is on the clock, we work to complete the service requested as efficiently and carefully as possible. Some customer requests may create extra risk, delay, cost, or safety concerns. If a request cannot be completed safely or within the scheduled scope, our team may review options with you before continuing.

  • Policies may vary by job type Local moves, long-distance routes, storage, specialty items, removals, and delivery jobs may have different requirements.
  • Written agreement controls Your estimate, invoice, bill of lading, or written service agreement may include additional terms.
  • Ask questions before move day If anything is unclear, contact our Eugene team before your scheduled service.

General Policy Notice

These company policies are general service guidelines for Pro Movers - Oregon. They are not a substitute for your written estimate, bill of lading, signed agreement, insurance terms, valuation terms, or applicable law.

Service & Payment Policies

Moving service guidelines

These policies explain customer responsibility, service scope, payment timing, deposits, changes, and claims.

01

Customer or Representative Presence

The customer or an authorized representative should be available during the move to answer questions, give directions, approve placement, confirm item priorities, and complete the final walkthrough.

If no authorized person is available, delays, placement issues, added time, or service limitations may occur.

02

Final Walkthrough

Before the crew leaves the pickup and delivery locations, the customer is responsible for completing a final walkthrough to confirm that requested items were moved and placed as directed.

Once the crew leaves, additional trips, changes, or missed items may require a new service request and additional charges.

03

Moving Time and Service Clock

For hourly jobs, moving time may include crew arrival, walkthrough, loading, driving when applicable, unloading, placement, equipment return, paperwork, and payment completion.

Delays caused by parking, access, elevators, building rules, unprepared items, customer changes, or waiting time may increase the final time.

04

Payment Policy

Payment is typically due at completion of service unless a written agreement states otherwise. Accepted payment methods, deposits, card requirements, and balances should be confirmed before move day.

For certain routes, long-distance requests, commercial jobs, storage, specialty items, or larger moves, a deposit or staged payment may be required to reserve crew, truck, equipment, and schedule time.

05

Estimates and Quote Changes

Quotes and estimates are based on details provided by the customer, including item list, service type, access, distance, crew size, packing status, stairs, parking, and timing.

If the actual job is larger, more complex, less prepared, or different from the original request, the final cost, schedule, or service plan may change.

06

Last-Minute Service Changes

Adding rooms, extra stops, additional items, packing requests, removals, storage stops, heavy items, or new destinations on move day may increase cost and time.

If the additional work affects other scheduled jobs or crew availability, Pro Movers - Oregon may complete the original scope first and schedule extra work for another available time.

07

Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, contact our team as early as possible. Late cancellations, same-day changes, crew dispatch, truck reservation, or special equipment preparation may affect deposit or fee handling.

Weather, unsafe access, emergency conditions, road closures, or other conditions may require rescheduling for crew and customer safety.

08

Damage Notes and Claims

Any visible damage concern should be reported before the crew leaves and noted in writing when applicable. The customer should inspect furniture, walls, floors, doors, elevators, and delivered items during final walkthrough.

Claims may require written notice, photos, move documents, item details, and review. Do not deduct money from the final bill without written company approval.

Access & Safety Policies

Truck access, building access, and crew safety

Access conditions can affect time, cost, safety, and whether certain items can be moved.

09

Parking Arrangements

The customer is responsible for arranging legal and practical parking for the moving truck when possible. Some locations may require building approval, loading dock reservations, street permits, or loading zone access.

If parking is unavailable when the crew arrives, the service clock may start while parking is located. Parking fees, access fees, gate fees, dock fees, or tickets related to customer-directed service may be the customer’s responsibility.

10

Stairs, Elevators, and Long Carries

Stairs, elevator waits, long hallway carries, steep driveways, narrow doors, gates, gravel, hills, or long distance from truck to door may increase time and may affect crew/equipment requirements.

Customers should provide access details before scheduling so the correct plan can be reviewed.

11

Building Rules and Property Approval

The customer is responsible for confirming move-in/move-out rules, elevator reservations, certificate requests, loading dock times, HOA rules, apartment rules, campus rules, business access, and property manager instructions.

If the building denies access or restricts service, extra time, rescheduling, or additional fees may apply.

12

Weather and Unsafe Conditions

Heavy rain, ice, snow, high wind, smoke, heat, flooding, road closures, unsafe walkways, power issues, or other unsafe conditions may require delay, rescheduling, or service adjustment.

Crew safety, customer safety, property safety, and road safety come first.

13

Crew Size and Equipment

Pro Movers - Oregon may recommend or assign crew size, truck size, moving equipment, dollies, pads, tools, and timing based on the move details, schedule, item list, access, route, and safety.

Some items may require additional movers, special equipment, or review before service can be confirmed.

14

Driver Hours and Route Limits

Drivers and crews may be subject to service-day limits, schedule limits, route timing, fatigue rules, traffic, weather, and safety requirements.

If a job becomes too long or unsafe to complete within the available workday, continuation or completion may need to be scheduled for another available time.

Items & Preparation Policies

Packing, appliances, specialty items, and restricted items

Good preparation helps reduce delays and protects the moving process.

15

Packing and Box Preparation

Unless packing service is scheduled, customers should have boxes packed, closed, labeled, and ready before movers arrive. Loose items, open boxes, fragile items, and unprepared rooms can increase time and risk.

Fragile items should be packed with proper materials. Important documents, medication, jewelry, cash, keys, and personal valuables should stay with the customer.

16

Restricted or Unsafe Items

Pro Movers - Oregon may not move hazardous, illegal, unsafe, leaking, flammable, explosive, corrosive, biohazard, perishable, contaminated, or restricted items.

Examples may include gasoline, propane, paint not approved for transport, chemicals, ammunition, fireworks, open liquids, live plants where restricted, food that may spoil, and items unsafe for crew handling.

17

Refrigerators and Freezers

Refrigerators and freezers must be empty before moving. Food, ice, water, loose shelves, and unsecured contents should be removed before the crew arrives.

Water lines, ice makers, and electrical connections should be disconnected by the customer or a qualified person before moving. Pro Movers - Oregon does not service refrigerant systems.

18

Appliances and Utility Connections

Washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, gas appliances, water lines, electrical connections, and built-in appliances must be properly disconnected before moving.

Our movers are not plumbers, electricians, gas technicians, or appliance repair technicians. Utility connection/disconnection should be handled by the customer or a qualified professional.

19

Drawers, Cabinets, and Desks

Dressers, file cabinets, desks, cabinets, nightstands, and storage furniture should be emptied when possible, especially if the item is heavy, fragile, weak, or must be tilted.

Heavy contents inside drawers may damage furniture, floors, walls, stairs, or the item itself during moving.

20

Flat Screen TVs and Electronics

Original packaging is best for TVs, monitors, electronics, computers, and delicate equipment. If original packaging is not available, additional protection may be recommended.

Functionality issues that appear after moving may be difficult to verify without visible external damage, prior testing, or proof of negligence.

21

Aquariums, Waterbeds, and Liquid Items

Aquariums must be empty of water, animals, gravel, decorations, and loose parts before moving. Waterbeds must be fully drained and prepared before service.

Items containing water or liquid may not be moved unless properly emptied and safe to handle.

22

Grandfather Clocks and Delicate Mechanisms

Customers should remove or secure pendulums, weights, chimes, glass shelves, keys, and delicate internal components before moving.

Specialty clock service, leveling, repair, calibration, or reassembly may require a qualified professional.

23

Heavy and Oversized Items

Pianos, gun safes, hot tubs, pool tables, large appliances, oversized furniture, commercial equipment, and heavy items require review before service.

Access, stairs, flooring, slopes, doorways, weight, equipment, crew size, and safety will determine whether the item can be moved and what service plan is needed.

24

Pianos, Safes, Hot Tubs, and Pool Tables

Specialty items may require photos, measurements, weight details, access review, ground-floor confirmation, disassembly readiness, or additional equipment.

Pro Movers - Oregon may decline or reschedule specialty item service if the item cannot be moved safely under the conditions provided.

25

Hoisting, Windows, Balconies, and Tight Access

Furniture hoisting, balcony access, window access, upper-floor exterior movement, or unusual access requests must be reviewed in advance.

Some requests may require building approval, weather review, safety review, additional crew, special equipment, or a third-party specialist.

26

Removal and Disposal Services

Junk removal, mattress removal, refrigerator disposal, yard waste removal, paint recycling, television disposal, clean outs, hot tub removal, and light demolition are reviewed by item type, access, quantity, condition, and local disposal availability.

Restricted, hazardous, leaking, unlabeled, unsafe, contaminated, or regulated materials may not be accepted.
